What is MBBS admission process in India

The MBBS admission process in India can vary depending on the state and the college/university you are applying to, but generally, it follows a similar pattern. Here are the typical steps involved in the MBBS admission process in India:

1. Eligibility Criteria: The first step in the MBBS admission process is to ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria for admission. This includes having passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as compulsory subjects and obtaining a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (40% for reserved categories).

2. Entrance Exam: The next step is to appear for the entrance exam for MBBS, which is usually conducted at the national or state level. Some of the popular entrance exams for MBBS in India include NEET-UG, AIIMS MBBS, and JIPMER MBBS.

3. Application Form: Once the results of the entrance exam are declared, eligible candidates can fill out the application form for admission to various medical colleges. The application forms are typically available online on the respective college/university's website or through a centralized admission process.

4. Counseling: After the application forms are submitted, candidates are called for counseling based on their rank in the entrance exam. During counseling, candidates can choose their preferred college and course based on their rank and availability of seats.

5. Seat Allotment: The final step in the admission process is the seat allotment, where candidates are allotted seats in their preferred college based on their rank and availability of seats.

Once the seat is allotted, candidates need to report to the college and complete the admission formalities, including payment of fees, submission of documents, and medical fitness certificate. After completing all the formalities, candidates can begin their MBBS program.
